Friday, January 10, 2014 Today is the first day of my new approach to my art career. I am prioritizing my life so that I have more time to devote to my creativity. I want to continue my community work, volunteering at the food bank and the humane society, but I also want to get my career in gear.
I am dedicating a time each day to creating, documenting and promoting my work. The morning seems to be my best time to create, so I am going to devote that time to creating. This will include actual time in the studio, research and time with my cattle because they inspire me.
Documenting of work will be done as the pieces are completed so I don't have a whole lot to do at one time. After documenting, I'll post to this site and Bearly Thayer Studio's facebook.
I have applied to the Victoria County Studio Tour for this coming fall's tour. If I am accepted that will be a great goal to work towards over the coming months.
I have memberships at The Lindsay Gallery and Kawartha Arts Network in Lindsay, so those are places I can show periodically throughout the year.
Recently I discovered a wonderful art magazine, Arabella. It promotes Canadian artists at all levels from emerging to mature. There are excellent profiles of artists and it is a great resource for gallery listings too.
